As Trane Comfort Specialists, our team at MSCO is well-equipped to describe the differences between each type of AC system and help you determine which is best for your home. Trane offers several models of air conditioners that vary in price and efficiency, as well as all-in-one systems.
Heating Products
With the mild climate in Virginia Beach, homeowners have many options in terms of heating systems. If you’re interested in a traditional furnace, Trane offers eight different options that use gas, electricity, or oil as fuel. Or, if you’d rather take advantage of the convenience and efficiency provided by a heat pump, MSCO offers several options for those as well.

Ductless Systems
If you don’t want to have to install copious amounts of ductwork in your home, ductless heating and cooling systems are a great option. These zoned or “split” systems are mounted on the wall or ceiling in different rooms to provide high-efficiency home comfort. You can turn a unit on in one room without affecting the system in another room, providing you with better temperature control.
Indoor Air Quality Products
The air in your home can be surprisingly dirty, and depending on the type of HVAC system you have, the air filters might not be able to filter out all the contaminants in the air. It might be worth it to look into an air cleaner, especially if someone in your home has allergies. Additionally, if you feel like the air in your home is too dry, Trane offers humidifiers to alleviate dry air conditions that aggravate asthma and allergies.
Programmable Thermostats and Smart Home Systems
Are you still using a thermostat that has an analog display and a sliding manual temperature adjuster? These old systems have many detractors—it’s hard to tell what temperature you’re setting; they’re not programmable, so you have to manually shut them on and off; and they often don’t read the temperature right in the first place if they’re particularly old. If you’re still using an old model, it’s time to upgrade to a programmable thermostat or even a smart home system.
